The stress-strain state of a grain is considered in active regimes of drying. Based on the fundamental
solutions of the thermal conductivity and mechanodiffusivity model, the formulae for determining
the viscous-elastic stresses arising in the grain during its drying in active regimes are obtained
and patterns of arising stresses depending on the bilayer structure of the individual grains
are investigated and established. A numerical study of displacements, deformations, and stresses
in structural elements of grains depending on the temperature and the concentration of moisture is
carried out and their optimal values to achieve uniform drying of wheat are determined.
