A systematic analysis of the modes of motion of the gas and the factors influencing its parameters is carried out. The conditions that the mathematical model of gas motion in the pipeline and the method of its implementation must meet to ensure that the simulation results are obtained with minimum and given accuracy. The results of the numerical experiments that substantiate the obtained
conclusions are presented.
